Submitting Artwork
-
When submitting artwork via email, using a compression
program such as winzip or stuffit is recommended to avoid file corruption.
-
Always supply a hard copy proof of file(s).
-
Hard copy should be of final version of output
file.
-
A copy indicating color breakdown and layout
position with dimensions should be provided to ensure correct
color separation, and artwork location, and or bleeds.
-
Electronic artwork should be provided at the
actual size.
-
When order is to match another printed piece,
please provide sample piece indicating any changes or revisions.
Fonts/Typefaces
- Avoid using true type fonts.
-
Please use only type 1 postscript fonts
whenever possible.
-
In the event that you cannot avoid using
true type fonts, please convert all type to "outlines",
"curves", or "paths" before submitting your graphic file. This
will dismiss the need for postscript fonts.
- Include all fonts (screen & printer) with
artwork file, including fonts used in embedded graphics.
- Please do not rename or customize the names
of screen or printer fonts.
Electronic File Formats
- The use of .jpeg, .gif, or .pict file
formats are not recommended. Often the resolution of these file
formats is too low for screen printing and stamping.
-
Acceptable file formats include .eps, .pdf,
.ai, .tif, .bmp. All created at a minimum of 300 ppi.
-
Graphic applications that we use include:
Adobe Illustrator CS2, Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe InDesign CS2,
QuarkXPress 6.5 and Adobe Acrobat 7
Ink Colors
- All graphic files should be spot color
unless the job is to be printed in 4 color process (cmyk). Please
use pantone colors in the artwork files that you provide. Make sure
to name and define custom colors exactly the same between graphic
programs and page layout programs.
-
We do not recommend using screen percentages
of black to achieve gray. Please assign a pantone gray to these
areas of your design.
Bleeds
- For vinyl binders have the bleed extend ¼”
beyond the binder.
- For turned edge binders have the bleed
extend ¾” beyond the binder.
Placed Images & Linking Files
-
Do not change the name of graphic files after
linking or placing these files into your output file. This often
causes computer error. When embedding the graphic file(s),
please also supply the embedded graphic file(s).
Substrate Color
-
We ask that you do not simulate the color of
the substrate in your graphic file. Please be sure to remove any
such colors before submitting your artwork.
